Each participant shows work from an individual profile (monographic or thematic) without any coordinating theme or firm guidelines. During this event the PhotoMuseum, which is responsible for the general organisation and coordination of this project, as well as being an exhibition site will also be a meeting place, a forum for dialogue and discussion. The programme features various workshops, lectures and debates, each with guests from Antwerp and abroad.

The PhotoMuseum Antwerp sets out to act as a crossroad for the many local, national and international players who are involved in the broad photography scene

The HISK, as one of the local institutions has always taken photography seriously. Not only as a documentary means, but also as a full-fledged category of contemporary art. Five of the 37 candidate-laureates are dealing with photography in a fascinating way, each exploring another aspect of this rich medium. Sara Claes investigates the notion of identity in the private world. Koert Declercq reflects on the relationship between nature and culture. Charlotte Lybeer deals with the diversity of social reality and the symbols connected with it, and Arno Roncada shows the metaphysical dimensions of spaciality. Kris Van Nechel, at last, examines the semiotic ambiguity of everyday life.
